A few political figures in New York state have also supported the suspension of the state gas tax of 33.3 cents per gallon.

While the federal government is not seeking to create any sort of stimulus package state legislators and President Biden have come up with various ideas for consumers. These include a 3-month fuel tax exemption. But as of late June it is unclear what is being considered by Congress. It will be some time before gas rebates start with every state. While President Trump has proposed nationwide gas tax holidays however, he’s not been able to come up with an acceptable legislation to finance it.
