Regardless of the politics of the concept the gas rebate cards are one of the many tools to help Americans combat the high cost of fuel. However, they have already come up against some resistance. Two months ago, House Democratic counsel panned the program, claiming that it would drive inflation, was prohibitively expensive, it wasn’t targeted sufficiently. Before, senior White House aides raised concerns about the rebate cards due to that there were no microchips.
