Oklahoma Gas Rebate from Federal Government
The federal government hasn’t passed the Gas Rebate Act of 2022 as of yet, however it is looking into such a plan, and some states and cities have already passed legislation to support it. The purpose of these rebates is to help citizens cope with rising prices. While they aren’t a federal program the majority of these rebates are issued through state governments who have surplus funds. The federal government needs to think about this scheme as a way to address the current high cost of gasoline as well as other commodities.
Some states have tried to cut their gas taxes and are now considering offering refunds to residents. Some states, like New York, are considering suspending the gas tax altogether or offering a tiny rebate. While President Obama has offered nationwide gas tax holidays however, he hasn’t found any law that would allow him to fund it.
